the process

STEP 1

Consultation: We will look at your teeth, and go over your aesthetic desires to determine if porcelain veneers would be a good fit for you. A thorough exam, x-rays, photos, and impressions are completed.

STEP 2

Smile Test-Drive: Your impressions are sent to our local partner lab who will hand wax-up the final blueprint. At your second visit, we will try this in your mouth and confirm that you love the plan.

STEP 3

Tooth Preparation: The preparation of your teeth involves removing a tiny bit of tooth in order to make sure that the fit is perfect for the porcelain veneers. Depending on your case, you may or may not require temporary veneers to go home in.

STEP 4

Bonding: When your veneers are ready, we’ll bond them permanently to your tooth making sure they fit perfectly and have a natural appearance.

STEP 5

Post-Op: Usually, the process of having dental veneers requires 2 appointments and we will make sure you feel comfortable in your new veneers before sending you home.

FAQ

What are porcelain veneers?

Porcelain veneers are a beautiful, durable solution to correct cosmetic imperfections in your smile. They are highly stain-resistant.

How long do dental veneers last?

On average, veneers can last between 5 to 10 years, depending on care and wear. Annual exams will help catch problems when they are small and help them last longer. With proper care, dental veneers can last 10 to 15 years or more. Porcelain veneers are particularly durable and resistant to staining.

Do veneers look natural?

Yes, we design veneers to match the color and shape of your natural teeth. We use the highest-quality material to ensure your veneers suit you and your natural smile.

Are dental veneers painful?

The process of getting veneers is minimally invasive, and most patients experience little to no discomfort. Local anesthesia may be used during the procedure.

Can dental veneers fix crooked teeth?

Dental veneers can help improve the appearance of slightly crooked or misaligned teeth by covering imperfections and creating a straighter smile. If teeth are heavily misaligned or your bite requires adjustment, Dr. Kim may recommend orthodontic movement first so that veneers will be minimally invasive.

Am I a good candidate for veneers?

A good candidate for veneers is someone who has overall healthy gums, no infection, and healthy bite. They are looking to enhance their smile because teeth may appear small, discolored, or worn down. Dr. Kim will let you know if you would be better served with alternatives like whitening & Invisalign and refer you to offices that specialize in Invisalign/braces.
